The View from Space


This is a satellite image of the area around Garden City, Kansas, USA. The bright red areas are very reflective in infrared wavelegths, indicating vigorous crops. Patterns of irrigation produce the circular shapes in the lower part of the image. The Arkansas River runs through the center and a reservoir is visible on the left.
