This is a plastic desktop model of the Q-5 target drone. Lockheed built these vehicles in the 1950s for the Air Force to use as a target for air-launched and ground-launched missiles. Carried aloft by an aircraft, the booster ignited after launch, was jettisoned, and the ramjet then took over.

Lockheed made the model and donated it to the Museum in 1958.
