For stable, almost hands-free use of cameras, brackets like this one could be placed inside and outside the spacecraft. Astronauts usually placed them near windows in order to set up a constant location for shooting photographs natural phenomena or the surface of the Earth.

NASA transferred this bracket to the Museum in 1968.
