  • Summary

The Type LPU-2/P life preserver was developed in the early 1960s. The floatation bladders were inflated with CO2 activated by the wearer from a pull tab lanyard. There is also an extended rubber hose to manually inflate the vest.

United States Air Force Type LPU-2/P Life Preserver; two front yellow neoprene coated floatation bladders with crossed back and waist yellow nylon straps; accessories (light, dye marker, shark repellant, and whistle) stored in yellow nylon bag; CO2 canisters with pull tab lanyard to inflate bladders; the life preserver is stored in yellow neoprene covered nylon bag with illustrated instructions.
