This is an example of a standard issue Royal Australian Air Force service coat of the late 1960s and early 1970s. There is no known information about the individual that wore this coat. It was donated to the National Air and Space Museum by the Embassy of Australia as a gesture of goodwill and international cooperation.

Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) blue wool service coat ; single breasted with open collar; four brass buttons down front with embossed eagle surmounted by a Queen's Crown; two upper button flap pockets with box pleats; two lower button flap pockets; a medal ribbon (Royal Air Force Long Service and Good Conduct Medal); gilt Warrant Officer rank insignia stripes on each cuff; Nationality insignia on each shoulder light blue embroidered "AUSTRALIA" on dark blue felt; attached belt.
