This plastic model of the U.S. Army Pershing I surface-to-surface missile was made by Topping Models. These missiles were deployed on mobile launchers in various NATO nations from 1962 until the late 1970s when it was replaced by the Pershing II. A two-stage liquid-fuel missile, it carried a nuclear warhead. Early versions had a range of approximately 100 miles, while subsequent versions had a range of up to 460 miles. Topping Models donated the model to the Museum in 1975.
