This is a model of unknown scale of the Atlas Able rocket. Developed by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the rocket utilized the first stage from the U.S. Air Force's Atlas intercontinental ballistic missile and second, third, and fourth stages adapted from the U.S. Navy's Vanguard rocket program. The Atlas Able was used by NASA three times during 1959-1960 to launch Pioneer lunar probes, but all three launches failed. The model's manufacturer and donor are unknown at this time.
