This is a 1:72 scale model of the Atlas-Centaur rocket, used by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration to launch a variety of satellites and probes. The first stage was a modified Atlas D intercontinental ballistic missile and the Centaur was the second stage. The rocket was first used to launch the Surveyor 1 lunar probe in May 1966 and was used in over sixty more launches until 1989.

The model's manufacturer and donor are not known at this time.
