This artifact is a West German 94 mm solid-fuel artillery barrage rocket, designation DM 19, probably dating from the 1960s. The Smithsonian received it from the US Army Ordnance Museum in Aberdeen, Maryland, as a part of gift of German rocket and missile artifacts in 1989.
