This device contained some of the electronic components associated with the Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems of the Apollo Command Module. The Apollo spacecraft carried a number of accelerometers, which measured the change in the craft's velocity, the data from which was combined with other sources to give the craft's position and velocity in space as it traveled from the Earth to the Moon and back. This artifact was probably a backup and not flown.
This object was transferred to the museum by NASA in 1972.
