This life support umbilical was designed for the Skylab astronauts. During Skylab EVAs, the astronauts were connected to the vehicle by this umbilical, through which gases and liquid cooling were transported to and from the astronaut. The umbilical was also equipped with an emergency oxygen supply and electrical system for communications, and bio-medical monitoring.

This umbilical was used dudring training sessions prior to the missions.
