Personal hygiene kits have been standard equipment for spaceflight since the 1960's. They contain various items for grooming and personal care, including soap, toothpaste and toothbrush, lotion, deodorant, comb, razor, and other products. With the inclusion of women in the shuttle astronaut corps, an optional make-up kit for cosmetic products became available. This unflown sample kit from NASA contains eyeliner, mascara, eye shadow, eye make-up remover, blusher, and lip gloss.

NASA transferred this to the Museum in 2002.
