Manufactured by Broadway Knitting Mills, this jacket was worn by William P. "Bill" Suitor when he served as a Rocket Belt pilot for Bell Aerosystems from March 1964 to June 1970. He made many flights, including flights on the Bell No. 2 Rocket Belt in the collection of the National Air and Space Museum. However, the jacket was not worn during the flights but only when Suitor first met the audience, prior to his flights.

Suitor donated this item to the Museum in 2004.
