Wright Hispano-Suiza A
In 1916, the Societe d'Exploitation des Materiels Hispano-Suiza of France began manufacturing Type A engines for the Spad fighter. This 112 kw (150 shp) engine was produced under license by the U.S. Wright-Martin Corporation (later Wright Aeronautical). It was principally used on U.S. military training aircraft such as the Curtiss JN-4H.
Transferred from the U.S. Navy, Naval Supply Center, Norfolk, Virginia.
