Teledyne Continental Motors Voyager-200
The Voyager-200 engine on exhibit here is an exact duplicate of the rear engine installed in the Voyager aircraft. The fuel efficiency of this power plant was one of the key elements that made possible Voyager's nonstop unrefueled global flight possible. Except for a 4-minute interval near the end of the flight when the engine's fuel flow was interrupted, the Voyager-200 engine ran continuously during Voyager's 9-day flight (December 14-23, 1986).
This engine incorporates a unique lightweight, liquid-cooled cylinder design, permitting combustion chamber improvements that minimize fuel consumption.
