Saturn V Instrument Unit
National Air and Space Museum curator Paul Cerruzi describes the Saturn V Instrument Unit on display at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. The instrument unit was the "brains" of the Saturn V rocket, carrying the guidance systems that kept the rocket on course and in a stable trajectory during launch. In the case of Apollo 12, it likely saved the entire mission.
