Gene Kranz, His White Vest and Apollo 13
Dr. Margaret Weitekamp, a curator in the National Air and Space Museum's Space History Division, shares the story behind the white vest worn by NASA Flight Controller Gene Kranz during the Apollo 13 mission. The vest, now on display at the Museum, is one of several of Gene Kranz's unique vests sewn by his wife and worn by him during his years as Flight Controller.
