Astronomy Chats

Have you ever talked to an astronomer? Come to Astronomy Chat to participate in an informal conversation with an astronomy researcher. The researchers work at a variety of institutions, including this museum, Harvard University, the Carnegie Institution for Science, and the US Air Force. If they cannot come in person, they join us by video chat.

The conversation may be on any topic of interest to you. Visitors frequently ask questions like, "What's an average day like for you?" or "What kind of telescopes have you used?"

Astronomy Chats are located at the Phoebe Waterman Haas Public Observatory at the Museum in Washington, DC. During inclement weather, they may be moved indoors, usually to the Explore the Universe gallery. Both locations are accessible. There is no admission fee.

You can find the schedule for Astronomy Chats here, but check @SIObservatory and #AstronomyChat for announcements and updates. Please pass along your questions for the astronomers on Twitter if you cannot attend in person.
