After its launch in April 1990, the Hubble Space Telescope was visited five times by astronauts who acted variously as rescuers, as resuscitators, and as redeemers. Lucky for us, they also became collectors. Join space history senior curator David DeVorkin as he discusses how these astronaut collectors made the exhibit "Repairing Hubble" possible.
Meet at the Museum's "Great Seal," in front of the Welcome Center, in the Boeing Milestones of Flight Hall on the first floor.
Can't make it to the talk? Read about "Repairing Hubble" in this blog post by David DeVorkin.
About the Ask an Expert lecture series: Every Wednesday at noon in the National Mall Building, a Museum staff member talks to the public about the history, collection, or personalities related to a specific artifact or exhibition in the Museum.
