100 Years of Military Aviation

Women in Aviation and Space Family Day at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center

Family Day
Saturday, April 25, 2009
10:00 am to 3:00 pm
Throughout the Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, VA

After the invention of the airplane, it moved from being just an invention to a viable technology.  A fledging aircraft industry began and the military began adding airplanes to its arsenal.  This family program will focus on the impact and contributions of women and men in military aviation history over the past century. Through guest speakers, a “Living Legends of Military Aviation” panel discussion, docent-led tours, book signings, Discovery Stations, hands-on activities, and Flights of Fancy Story Time for our youngest guests, visitors will learn about the pilot training and the skills needed to fly and maneuver these aircraft.
