Ask an Expert Series
Presenter: Michael Neufeld
Wednesday, July 13, 2011
12:00 pm to 12:15 pm
Museum in Washington, DC

Curator Michael Neufeld will discuss rocket pioneer Robert Goddard's last and most sophisticated flight rocket. The "P" series (for pump rocket) was launched 1940/41 in Roswell, New Mexico, with turbopumps for moving the propellants. Goddard's problems with these rockets indicate the limits of his style of technology development.

The Ask An Expert lecture series at the National Mall building is presented every Wednesday at noon. A Museum staff member talks to the public about the history, collection, or personalities related to a specific artifact or exhibition in the Museum.
