This presentation will take a closer look at three of the science experiments set up by astronauts on the surface of the Moon during the first manned landing. Instrumentation to reflect lasers from Earth, measure the strength of Moon-quakes, and capture samples of the solar wind, were all set up by the astronauts, and, in some cases, kept operating for years after they left.

The Ask An Expert lecture series at the Museum in Washington, DC is presented every Wednesday at noon. A Museum staff member talks to the public about the history, collection, or personalities related to a specific artifact or exhibition in the Museum.

Participants should meet at the Welcome Center in the Milestones of Flight gallery (Gallery 100).
