6:30 p.m.  Telescope observing at Phoebe Waterman Haas Public Observatory, weather permitting

Astronauts have played an important role in astronomy since 1962. Learn how, as on-orbit surrogate astronomers, they provide images and impressions of astronomical sights and events from outside Earth’s atmosphere.

Smithsonian's Stars lectures are suitable for ages 13 and up.
