Retired Marine Corps Reserve Maj. Gen. Kenneth Weir flew U-2s as a Lockheed test pilot from 1972 to 1993. A Marine aviator and graduate of the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School and the U.S. Air Force Aerospace Research Pilot School, General Weir accumulated more than 19,900 hours in more than 200 types and models of aircraft. He is a fellow in the International Society of Experimental Test Pilots and one of the 200 members of the Golden Eagles, the Early and Pioneer Naval Aviators Association. The lecture is for members of the Museum's National Air and Space Society and their guests only. There is no charge for Society members to attend, but advance reservations are required.
