Keeping an Eye on It: Monitoring Astronauts with Cameras
Presenter: Jennifer Levasseur
Thursday, January 24
12:30 pm to 12:45 pm
Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, VA
Admission: Free

Monitoring astronaut activities in space requires a series of cameras, both inside and outside the spacecraft, to ensure safety and document work. During the space shuttle era, with expanded living and working spaces, the number of cameras also increased. This talk will look at the system of cameras for use inside and outside the crew compartment of the space shuttle.

The Ask An Expert lecture series at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center is presented every 2nd and 4th Thursday at 12:30 PM. A Museum staff member talks to the public about the history, collection, or personalities related to a specific artifact or exhibition in the Museum.
