This annual event celebrates the contributions of Latinos to aviation and space exploration. Learn about early aviators from the last century who took great risks flying the first planes and breaking records. Meet current Hispanic scientists and engineers. Many of the activities and presentations are available in English and Spanish.

Hispanic Heritage Day: Innovators in Air and Space

Admission: Free

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage month at the National Air and Space Museum and learn about Latin Americans' contributions to aviation and space exploration. Talk to Hispanic leaders in aviation and space; discover the daring accomplishment of early Hispanic aviators; dance to a Latin beat as DJ Jim Byers of WPFW Latin Flavor spins space-themed music; and participate in hands-on activities for all ages including Design Build Test: From Rockets to Rocket Belts.
This event is presented in collaboration with the Smithsonian Latino Center.
