1903 Wright Flyer Move The 1903 Wright Flyer is lifted to the second floor of the National Air and Space Museum's flagship building, in Washington, Sept. 24, 2003. The Flyer was moved in preparation for "The Wright Brothers & The Invention of the Aerial Age," which opened Oct. 11.

The world's first airplane was moved upstairs to be the centerpiece of "The Wright Brothers & The Invention of the Aerial Age," which opened Oct. 11.
