Mercury-Redstone Launch Vehicle
Used for the suborbital space flights of astronauts Alan B. Shepard, Jr., and Virgil I. Grissom during the Mercury Program.The Mercury-Redstone launch vehicle was developed from the U.S. Army's Redstone missile.
Alan B. Shepard Jr., America's first man in space, used this diagram to familiarize himself with the instrument panel of his Mercury spacecraft, Freedom 7. The training diagram is signed by Shepard.
Freedom 7 Flight Operations Manual
This manual contained checklists for both normal and emergency flight operations for the flight of Mercury spacecraft Freedom 7 on May 5, 1961.
