Boeing 787 Dreamliner Enters into Service with ANA
Boeing delivers the first of new-generation airplanes in lightweight carbon fibre. These aircraft will be operated by Japan's ANA (All Nippon Airways) as a charter international flight from Tokyo to Hong Kong. The all-new Boeing 787 Dreamliner is the first mid-size airplane capable of flying long-range routes, enabling airlines to open new, non-stop routes preferred by the traveling public. Composite materials, more-electric systems, advanced aerodynamics and modern engines combine to make the 787 more fuel efficient and provide lower operating costs. Advances in passenger comfort include cleaner cabin air, higher humidity and lower cabin altitude that combine to help passengers feel more refreshed after flying. Other innovations include larger windows with electrochromic shades, bigger onboard luggage bins and reliable LED lighting.
