Milestones of Flight is the central exhibition space that greets visitors entering the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC. It has looked much the same since the Museum opened July 1, 1976, but all of that is about to change. A major renovation is now underway thanks to a generous donation from Boeing. The new Boeing Milestones of Flight Hall, to be completed for the Museum's 40th anniversary in 2016, will change the way we tell the many stories of how aviation and spaceflight have transformed the world.
