Flown MTV “Moonman” Video Music Awards Statuette
In 1996, Pepsi, one of MTV’s corporate sponsors, paid to have this “Moonman” award statue flown aboard the Russian Mir space station during the Video Music Awards show. Host Dennis Miller attempted to converse with the two cosmonauts during the live show.
