Apollo 11 70 mm Hasselblad Camera
This camera was used aboard the Apollo 11 command module Columbia. Having any camera from a Moon mission is rare, because most photographic gear was discarded to save space and weight on the journey home.
For space missions, NASA chose high–quality cameras, modifying them for spaceflight. The agency chose the Swedish manufacturer Hasselblad, with its worldwide reputation for outstanding workmanship and technical quality, as the primary still camera supplier late in Project Mercury. Hasselblad continued to supply NASA with cameras from that time through today’s Space Shuttle missions.
