Space Shuttle Main Engine

Although not the most powerful rocket engine ever flown, the Space Shuttle Main Engine (SSME) burned fuel more efficiently than many of its predecessors. Unlike all of NASA's liquid fuel rocket engines, the SSME was reusable.
