Commander Neil Armstrong (right) and pilot David R. Scott prepare to board Gemini VIII. The mission launched at 11:41 am EST on March 16, 1966. Gemini VIII conducted the first docking of two spacecraft in orbit after rendezvous with an unmanned Agena docking target.
