Robert Ashby, Tuskegee cadet Robert Ashby was the only Tuskegee Airman to become a pilot for a scheduled commercial airline. He flew with Frontier Airlines from 1973 until he retired in 1986 as captain of a Boeing 737. 1945 Private collection
