This Nikon SLR camera is a similar model to those used on the Skylab missions of the 1970s. An attachment like the one on this camera helped filter out atmospheric haze for clearer images needed for Skylab experiment S063. The long Skylab missions gave astronauts enough time to make many photographic observations of Earth. Skylab's nine astronaut residents used five different Nikon cameras stored in the laboratory module for each crew to use. None of the flown cameras returned to Earth.
Ehrenreich Photo-Optical Industries gave this camera to the Museum in 1977.
