restoration of the Hawker Hurricane IIc took over 10 years.
The challenges faced by restoration specialists included
the extensive damage to the structure and the need to replace
many of the parts which were either missing, damaged, or
not authentic. The restoration was completed and the finished
aircraft rolled out in April of 2001. The aircraft was moved
to the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy
Center in April of 2003 where it will go on public display
when the doors open on December 15. 2003.
