historian emeritus, is declared the Museum's honorary

presented with the Smithsonian Institution's Samuel
P. Langley Medal for his lifelong contribution to
aviation and his seminal role in the building of
the National Air and Space Museum (November 3).. |

the world without landing or refueling, is transported
to the Museum and suspended from the ceiling in
the South Lobby (November 20). |
