Fifteen years after it first opened its doors to the public, the Museum celebrates its anniversary with an outdoor opening ceremony featuring remarks by Sen. John Glenn and former museum director Michael Collins (July 1).
 
The history and future of exploration is the focus of a roundtable, "From Vinland to Mars," featuring Thor Heyerdahl, explorer/author; Sigmundur Gudbjarnason, University of Iceland; Michael Collins, former astronaut and author; and Gerald Soffen, project scientist on the Viking mission to Mars (October 9).
 
A major new exhibition examining the legend and reality of aviation in "World War I - Legend, Memory and the Great War in the Air," opens to the public (November 13).
