Aviation Week and Space Technology Laureate Award
and Laureates Hall of Fame

The Aviation Week and Space Technology Laureate Award was conceived in 1957 to honor individuals or team leadership in global aviation and aerospace. In 1989, Aviation Week created the Laureate Award to honor extraordinary achievements in aviation and aerospace. The Laureate Award annually recognizes achievement in six categories: Aeronautics/Propulsion, Commercial Air Transport, Electronics, Government/Military, Operations, and Space. In 1994 a Lifetime Achievement Award was added. The Laureates represent an elite class of distinguished men and women who epitomize the values and vision of the global aerospace industry. In 1997, Aviation Week launched the Laureates Hall of Fame, a permanent public archive of Laureate winners and legendary Laurels winner.
