Our best hope of understanding the history of landforms on other planets is to first understand how similar landforms on Earth were generated. We are studying a wide range of landforms and deposits on Earth, using a host of different field and remote sensing techniques, in order to document what attributes will be most diagnostic for interpreting the story behind features now visible on the surfaces of many other planets and moons.
