Free tours, led by our docents (volunteer guides) highlight the Museum's collection and trace the history of air and space travel. Tours are open to everyone and depart daily from the Tour Desk, located by the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird.
Our docent corps is made up of knowledgeable volunteers, including former NASA employees, pilots (some of whom flew aircraft in our collection), engineers, and historians.

Daily Tour Schedule:
Additional tours may be added on any given day. Please check at the Welcome Center for times.
Groups of 20 or more adults can reserve a tour. (Two-weeks advance notice is required).
Groups of 10 or more students can reserve 60-minute tours. (Three-weeks advance notice is required).
Visitors with Disabilities:
Many of our docents are trained to give tours to children and adults with disabilities. Two-weeks advance notice is required to reserve a special-needs program. Find out more about requesting accommodation.
Become a Docent:
All of our guided-tours are conducted by docents (volunteer guides). If you are passionate about air and space, especially if you speak multiple languages, including sign language, we'd love to hear from you. Learn more about how you can become a docent.
Honoring Our Heroes:
The National Air and Space Museum honors military veterans through its Hosting Heroes program. Members of the military and veterans receive a free, VIP guided tour experience at our Museum in Washington, DC or the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, VA.
