Look at how level the 1902 glider is. This shows how well it flew. There is more lift to hold it up in the air and less drag to slow it down. The 1902 glider flew much better than the 1901 glider. The changes the Wright brothers had made were working. The Wrights flew their new glider first as a kite with no pilot.
