On Friday, July 1, we're staying open all night to celebrate the 40th anniversary of our flagship building in Washington, DC, and the opening of our redesigned exhibition, the Boeing Milestones of Flight Hall.

Opening Ceremony

8:30 to 9:00 pm - Friday, July 1
An evening ceremony to commemorate the 40th anniversary of our flagship building in Washington, DC and officially open the newly renovated Boeing Milestones of Flight Hall will begin at 8:30 pm on the Museum's North Terrace.* The ceremony will take place outside the Museum on the very spot of the July 1, 1976 opening.

*Ceremony will be held inside the Museum in the case of rain.

All Night On Air

Don't worry if you can't make it all night or at all. We will be broadcasting live from 8:00 pm to 8:00 am. See what's happening at the Museum and catch interviews with special guests.

All Night Activities

9:00 pm, Friday, July 1 to 10:00 am, Saturday, July 2
We'll open our doors promptly following the ceremony and keep them open throughout the night. Treats, giveaways, music, movies, and special guests will keep you energized. All activities are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.

Film Festival

Starting at 9:30 we're playing air- and space-themed films with special commentary from Museum experts and follow-along activities. While our movies are free, we do ask that you reserve your seat. Prepare to watch Le Voyage dans la Lune (A Trip to the Moon), Destination MoonGalaxy Quest2001: A Space OdysseyTop Gun, and finally Hugo.

Launch Crew

8:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Friday, July 1
SOLD OUT
Launch Crew is a ticketed, 21-and-over program. Get exclusive access to Museum staff, special guests, and our outstanding objects. Sample food and beverages from DC area establishments and help launch the night's festivities. This is a paid program.  All ticket sales are final.

Member Hospitality Suite

The National Air and Space Society will host a hospitality suite for members on Saturday, July 2, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am. Please RSVP using this form by June 24.
