Colored etching of crowds gathered in Paris to watch the takeoff of a balloon. Text in French and German on bottom. French text in reverse on top, indicating that the print was meant to be viewed in a zograscope. The printed caption is incorrect. The print shows the first flight of a small gas balloon by J.A.C. Charles on 27 August 1783. This is not a Montgolfier flight as the printed information indicates.
