    Child's wood baseball bat. Head is widest point, flat at top, not rounded as with traditional bats. Light colored wood, grain runs lengthwise. Minor cracks and water marks, deep scratches approx 1/3 length from head. Large off-white paint spatter at grip. Per donor: Handmade by Sally Ride's maternal grandfather Anders Anderson to teach her to swing and play catch at c. 7 years old.
