Rocket Motor, Solid Fuel, 15-KS-1000, JATO (Jet-Assisted-Take-Off) Unit
Cylindrical; conical at front end with wheel attached to small flat top of cone, wheel served as a stand; other end partly conical, with conical part starting just after flat end of cylinder and of slightly smaller diameter than cylinder; cone the ends with much smaller diameter protruding cylinder, with gray end cap over built-in nozzle exit opening; the whole, off white, from fading of original white paint, with some paint chipping, revealing green chromate underneath; horizontally placed decal,, badly deteriorated, with some black and some red lettering, and many words and numbers missing; some letters have also migrated but remain firmly attached to other parts of decal. Multiple, equidistant holes around nozzle opening; opening threaded for closure plate; threaded hole at other end of motor cylinder, on top of cone, and in middle of wheel for stand. Overall, steel; nozzle, steel, but unpainted gray metal; brown plastic-like filling in nozzle throat
