Iven C. Kincheloe Award consists of a stylized delta wing aircraft which faces four columns with the Experimental Test Pilot's "X" emblem (a gold "X" on blue enamal oval) attached to the two center columns. The columns and aircraft are mounted on a solid black bakelite base with engraved silver plaques around the sides of the base with the names of each year's winner. The columns represent courage, integrity, knowledge and accomplishment, which help to make up the foundation upon which the Society is built. The symbolic aerospace vehicle points toward the shield of the Society and conveys the thought that aerospace industry is dependent upon the Society to share in the develoment of manned aerospace systems.
