At left foreground is the Highway Bridge from Washington, D.C., (with railroad bridge beyond); at right are the terminal building and public pool at the eastern corner of Washington-Hoover Airport, Arlington, Virginia. Farther downriver at center left background landfill work is underway at Gravelly Point for construction of the new Washington National Airport. The city of Alexandria appears in the distant background, with the spire of the George Washington Masonic Memorial visible on the horizon at right.
