Colored etching of Lunardi's ascent from the Artillery Grounds on September 15, 1784. Image shows the balloon being inflated with a large crowd gathered on the grounds and on the wall around the grounds to watch. From a Sketch by Paul Sandby. Etching is adhered to a slightly larger backing paper, making the reverse inaccessible.
